Course Policies & Rules of Play

 

Rules of Play

¨      USGA rules govern play, except where modified by local rules.

¨      All play must start from 1 tee unless otherwise directed by the golf staff.

¨      Repair all ball marks on the green.

¨      Replace all divots on tees and fairways.

¨      Rake all sand bunkers smooth after your shot.

¨      Yardage:  In-ground tee markers at 200 yards, 150 yards and 100 yards (center of fairways) as well as 150 yard posts.

¨      Each player must have their own (or rental) set of clubs and bag.

¨      Players must follow the instructions from the golf staff and on-course assistants.

¨      The golf staff reserves the right to pair golfers to complete a foursome at any time.

¨      Practicing on the golf course is not permitted.

¨      Play READY GOLF.  Champion Lakes is committed to a 4 hour and 30 minutes, 18 hole round of golf.  Allow faster players to play through.  Your group is responsible to keep pace with the group immediately in front of you.  If your group falls behind the player assistant will inform your group that they need to regain their position.  If the position is not regained in a reasonable amount of time, your group will be instructed to move to your position behind the group in front of you.

¨      LOCAL RULE: Play unmarked wooded areas as a lateral hazard.

 

Golf Carts

¨      Players renting a motorized cart assume financial responsibilities for any damage done to said golf cart.

¨      Players operating a motorized car must be 16 years of age or older with proof of a valid driver’s license.

¨      A maximum of two players and two golf bags are permitted per golf cart.

¨      Golf carts must remain on the cart paths near all tees and greens.

¨      Observe daily cart rules.

¨      Keep carts out of wooded areas and off steep slopes.

¨      The 90-Degree Rule is in effect except when carts are restricted to paths only.

 

Dress Code

¨      Soft spiked or soft-soled golf shoes are required.  Metal spikes are not permitted.

¨      Proper, traditional golf attire is required.

¨      The following are not permitted: cut-offs, tank tops, swim wear and athletic sweat suits.

 

Weather

¨      Rain Checks: No cash refunds will be given for golf fees.  Rain checks will be issued consistent with the fees purchased, providing the conditions warrant stoppage of play.  3 or fewer holes played: rain check issued for full fees paid.  4 to 14 holes played: rain check issued for one half of fees paid.  Rain checks must be redeemed with-in one year of issuance and are not redeemable for cash or merchandise.

 

Tee Times

¨      Tee times are taken seven days a week, up to a year in advance.

¨      A major credit card number and phone number is required to reserve a tee time.

¨      Champion Lakes Golf Club retains the right to reserve the facility at any time for group events up to one year in advance.

 

General Policies

¨      All golfers must register in the golf shop.

¨      Spectators and non-golfers are not permitted on the golf course unless pre-arranged through management.

¨      Children under 6 years of age are not permitted on the golf course.

¨      An adult must accompany children ages six to twelve.

¨      Rude behavior or abusive treatment of staff or other golfers will not be tolerated.  Violators may be asked to leave the golf course without a refund.

¨      The law provides that injury to persons and or damage to property caused by a golf shot is the sole and financial responsibility of the golfer that hit the golf shot.  Golf at your own risk.

¨      Damage done to golf course property is the sole and financial responsibility of the individual causing the said damage.
